Bring Order Into Your Tool Shed

With a garden as big as mine, you can imagine that I have a few gardening tools, to say the least. And every year, it’s the same thing: for the love of me, I can’t remember where I put them. Well, I know that they are in the tool shed, for the most part, but where exactly?

This year, I decided to put a stop to it. Enough is enough. I sat down to figure out a way that I could convince myself of keeping my tool shed in order, with each tool where it should be. Here are the main steps I took.

So far, my tool shed has been hiding in a corner of the garden, trying its best to remain unseen. Now I decided to paint it and let it take its proper place as a part of the garden.

My husband helped me do the actual painting once I decided on the colour, and now I have a lovely small shed that looks really inviting, instead of hiding.

I used the same methodology for the interior of the tool shed. First of all, I had my husband change the lighting and put in some more. It is easier to find what you’re looking for when you can actually see.

When I could see I saw how grimy it was. I cleaned and painted the walls white. Then I decided to buy stickers at and label everything. Both the tools and their proper places.
